Pinkerton Dance will be CLOSED March 23- 30 for Spring Break. Classes will resume on Monday, March 31.

Below are three events that Pinkerton Dance Academy & Pinkerton Ballet Theater will be presenting in May & June. Please read the information carefully. There are sign-up sheets for all events posted at the studio. You may also e-mail me with your answers if that is more convenient for you. It will also be posted on our website shortly. Please respond by Friday, February 15, for "Stars & Stripes" in Carson and Fallon.

Pinkerton Dance Academy will be presenting "Stars & Stripes" on Friday, May 23, 2008, at the Carson City Community Center theater at 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The morning show is a special performance only for elementary schools in the Carson City area. The evening show is open to family, friends, and the general public. All classes will be performing in both shows. We need to know if your child/children will be participating in these shows.

There will be a recital fee and costume rental fees which will be posted in the near future. You will be required to supply the appropriate dance shoes and tights as required for each dance routine in which your child is performing. The costume rental fees will range from $15.00 to $30.00 per costume. Photos in costume will be scheduled in May.

You will receive ticket(s) to the evening show upon payment of the recital fee, which will be posted at a later date. Tickets will not be distributed until all tuition, recital, and costume fees are paid and up-to-date in May.

We must know if your child will be performing in these shows. Pick up a copy of this notice (on table in waiting room and also will be distributed to students) and return the bottom portion by Friday, February 15 and sign up on the sheet posted on the door in the studio. Please return whether the answer is yes or no. It is important to the choreography and costuming to know right away whether your child will be performing in the show. If you do not return the form by February 15, we will assume you are not going to participate in the recital and a costume will not be reserved for your child. We also need volunteers to sew, make craft items, props, sets, etc. Anything you can do will be a big help! Let Vickie or Ayako know if you can help.

We are taking a survey to see if there is enough interest to perform Stars & Stripes in Fallon, Nevada, on Sunday, May 18. This is a fundraiser to benefit our Nutcracker Ballet. If we do this performance in Fallon, this may be the only big fundraiser we will need to organize this year. Since performing on stage is a big part of dance, this would be a great opportunity for the dancers to be able to perform a total of three shows (2 in Carson on 5/23, 1 in Fallon) after working so hard all these months! It is also exciting to be able to perform at a new venue. Fallon is only an hour drive from Carson. The theater is beautiful and holds approx. 350. We would have a run-through Sunday morning, take a lunch break/rest, and then do a matinee performance. A sign-up sheet is posted at the studio, so sign it and check the "yes" or "no" box. We will have guest artists instructing classes in ballet, tap, jazz and modern. Sign-up sheets are posted at the studio. There will be three levels: 4-6 year olds (pink sheet), 7-10 year olds (yellow sheet), and 11 & older (blue sheet). We need a minimum of 10 in each level. Sign-up NOW on the appropriate sheet for an educational and exciting summer session!
